Sources revealed that the governor, who has been away from the state, is expected to arrive soon.

His absence followed a political standoff involving him, the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, which led President Bola Tinubu to suspend Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and the state lawmakers for six months.
Although President Tinubu officially lifted the emergency rule in Rivers on Wednesday, and the House of Assembly reconvened the next day, Fubara was noticeably absent from the Government House, even as hundreds of his supporters turned out to welcome him.
