President Bola Tinubu has commended the men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their sacrifices and dedication to the nation.
Speaking at the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Tinubu highlighted the vital role of the military in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
He noted that considering the risks faced by soldiers in the line of duty, the armed forces deserve the full support and encouragement of all Nigerians.

“Yes, we are challenged by terrorism, banditry, and others. We recognise that.
Are we doing something about it? Are we inspiring the armed forces? Are we encouraging them to fight?
They put their lives on the line to defend the sovereignty of this country. It is our responsibility,” he said.
Tinubu’s remarks have sparked reactions among Nigerians, coming shortly after the confrontation between FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and a Naval Officer in Abuja.
Although the President did not directly address the incident, many Nigerians are drawing a connection between his comments on the military and the recent clash.
