Peter Obi, a frontrunner for the 2027 presidential election, has arrived at the National Assembly to lead a demonstration.

The political leader is at the national assembly building’s entrance alongside numerous supporters, including the well-known activist Aisha Yesufu.

The group converged on the site to demand that the Electoral Amendment Bill currently under review include a mandate for the real-time electronic transmission of election results directly from polling units.

To maintain order, a significant security presence—consisting of the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other paramilitary units—has been deployed, with vans positioned at strategic points around the area.
