Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, appeared at the Kaduna State High Court on Tuesday for his formal arraignment by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
After spending over a month in detention, El-Rufai was previously arraigned last week before Justice Rilwan Aikawa.
He faces a 10-count charge involving the alleged “conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.”
Following that initial appearance, the court scheduled March 31, 2026, to address pending applications, including his request for bail.

On March 27, the ICPC granted the former governor a temporary release on “compassionate grounds” so he could attend the funeral of his mother, Hajiya Ummar El-Rufai, in Cairo, Egypt.
The funeral prayer, conducted on Sunday at the Central Mosque in Abuja, was attended by several prominent Nigerian figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
Video footage shared on X showed El-Rufai arriving at the court premises in a white pickup truck under a heavy security detail.
Dressed in a light-blue flowing agbada with a matching cap and a yellow-patterned inner garment, he was seen walking steadily across the courtyard, accompanied by aides and uniformed security operatives.
