Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has asserted that President Bola Tinubu’s only threat in the 2027 general elections would be if the contest were held on social media.

During a Channels Television interview that gained significant traction on Sunday, Sani argued that internet discussions fail to represent the actual voting power found at the grassroots level.

Addressing the rising online criticism and speculation surrounding the next election, Sani dismissed the influence of social media trends on actual outcomes.

He stated:“If the election is going to be conducted on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or social media, Asiwaju will lose, but if it is people who will vote through the ballot at polling units, he is going to win 70% of the votes.”

These comments arrive as political maneuvering for 2027 intensifies, particularly given the enduring online popularity of Peter Obi, whose supporters maintained a massive presence across digital platforms throughout the 2023 election cycle.

Sani’s position emphasizes a belief that the “real” electorate remains disconnected from the narratives shaped by social media influencers and digital activists.
