Family Of Beheaded Oyo Teacher Writes Tinubu, Makes Strong Demand

The family of late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, the teacher who was abducted and subsequently beheaded, has written a letter to President Bola Tinubu requesting help to recover his body for a proper burial.

Late Mr. Olugbade was a staff member at Community High School, Ohoro-Esinle, located in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The family made the appeal through their legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, who drafted and signed the petition on behalf of the bereaved relatives.

The letter, dated May 25, 2026, was titled: ‘Request for the urgent intervention in the tragic kidnapping, brutal murder and beheading of the late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, One of the Abducted Teachers of Community High School, Ohoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State’.

Part of the letter states:“We write to formally bring to the attention of His Excellency the tragic kidnapping, brutal murder and beheading of the late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade One of the Abducted Teachers of Community High School, Ohoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, by suspected terrorists on the 15 th day of May 2026.

“It is our clients’ information that late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade was a peaceful and diligent teacher at Community High School, Ohoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, whose life was cruelly and violently cut short under heartbreaking and inhuman circumstances. He is also survived by his wife and two sons, who have been left traumatized by the gruesome manner of his death.

“Despite widespread national regarding the death of the late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, his remains are yet to be seen or recovered. In this distressing circumstances, we respectfully appeal for Your Excellency’s urgent intervention to direct the relevant security and intelligence agencies towards locating and recovering his body, so that his family maybe afforded the solemn opportunity to conduct a dignified burial and rescue other victims still in captivity.”

The family strongly urged the President to give the matter the ultimate priority it deserves, highlighting that their late brother was killed while actively serving his community. They also demanded that the law enforcement agencies track down and bring the perpetrators of the horrific crime to justice.
