An unhappy aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, has taken the ruling party and several of its high-ranking officials to a Federal High Court in Abuja following his alleged disqualification from running for the office of National Vice Chairman (South-South).
In the lawsuit brought before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, Dagogo charged the APC leadership with illegally stopping him from taking part in the party’s South-South zonal congress, even though he reportedly expended more than N100 million in pursuit of the role.
The plaintiff maintained that despite paying for the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms, he was blocked from receiving them after meeting all the necessary guidelines.

“You cannot discard me after I spent over N100 million pursuing this ambition,” Dagogo reportedly stated in the suit, accusing party officials of deliberately frustrating his participation in the exercise.
The defendants listed in the legal action include the APC, the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Vice Chairman (South-South), Victor Giadom, and the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu.
Dagogo is pursuing a judicial order to invalidate any results from the South-South zonal congress that took place without his involvement.
Additionally, he is requesting N100 million in compensation for the embarrassment, emotional distress, and mental torture he allegedly suffered due to the conduct of the party and its leadership.

Based on his sworn affidavit, the aspirant claimed that after covering the necessary fees on March 13, 2026, he went to the APC national secretariat to pick up the nomination forms but was told they were out of stock.
He added that certain party leaders willfully blocked him from getting the documents because they worried he would beat the current officeholder in the election.
Conversely, the APC, speaking through its lawyers, pressed the court to throw out the case, maintaining that the dispute is strictly an internal party matter and thus falls outside the court’s jurisdiction.
