Activist and politician Aisha Yesufu has hit back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following comments allegedly mocking her political ambition and reported loss in a senatorial primary election.
During an outing in Rivers State on Saturday, Wike ridiculed Yesufu over her inability to secure the senatorial ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), while also stating that “real politics” goes beyond media engagement and public commentary.
Responding quickly through her verified X handle, Yesufu dared the minister to state her name openly if his jabs were truly aimed at her.
She wrote: “If dem born Wike well, make e call my name with his full chest! What Tambuwal did him in 2022 will be child’s play.”
The activist went on to look back at Wike’s own political past, pointing to his loss at the 2022 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election.
She also claimed that the minister begged to be the running mate after losing the ticket but was rejected.
She added: “The man that could not win primaries in 2022, even lobbied for running mate and still was not chosen, then ran to do boi boi for a fellow man like him and ended up destroying a party that was once largest in Africa.”
Yesufu maintained that she will not stand by and let anyone mock her openly, cautioning that she is ready to give a rougher reply if he dares to mention her name.
She stated: “Let me wait make the man get liver mention name! Then the man doing boi boi because he has to be in power to have authority will know those of us from Kukuruku empire of Edo State in South South no dey grovel.”
