The domestic market for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly known as cooking gas, opens August with prices stabilizing following recent supply improvements.
Rates continue to vary significantly depending on whether you purchase directly from a certified Gas Plant or a local Neighborhood Gas Shop.
1. Direct Gas Plants (Wholesale / Refill Stations)
Refilling directly at major processing, coastal, or independent bottling plants offers the most affordable per-kilogram rates by eliminating third-party transport markups.

Lagos & South-West: ₦1,100 to ₦1,250 per kg

Abuja & North-Central: ₦1,250 to ₦1,350 per kg

South / Other Zones: ₦1,250 to ₦1,400 per kg (plants in regions outside primary import hubs reflect local transport costs)
2. Neighborhood Gas Retail Shops (More Expensive)
Standalone roadside vendor stands and residential gas shops price higher to offset cylinder logistics, transport overhead, shop rent, and handling margins.
