Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has formally accepted his designation as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The lawmaker, who represents Zamfara West in the upper legislative chamber, conveyed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the ruling party for placing confidence in his capacity to pilot the campaign structure.
The campaign lineup was established following an official announcement issued by the Presidency on Saturday morning, which was endorsed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Under the finalized administrative layout, President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will spearhead the council as Chairman and Vice-Chairman I respectively, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma assumes office as the Secretary.
The unveiled roster encompasses a comprehensive 223-member team structured across diverse national directorates to manage mobilization and strategy.
Reacting to the development, Yari stated, “I accept this responsibility with deep gratitude and full seriousness. My sincere thanks go to President Bola Tinubu and the party for the trust placed in me, and to our party leadership for the confidence. I do not take it lightly.”
He characterized the nationwide campaign journey not merely as a political contest, but as an extensive dialogue engaging citizens across every state regarding the shared future of the country.
The former Zamfara State governor committed to executing the assignment with absolute discipline, unity, and mutual respect, noting that operational mobilization would commence without delay.
Furthermore, Yari urged citizens across various political affiliations to prioritize developmental progress, emphasizing that the party intends to secure public endorsement through tangible accomplishments rather than rhetoric.
“By the grace of God, and with the effort of us all, we will deliver victory in January 2027,” he added.
