Former Adamawa Governor Bindow Returns To APC

Senator Muhammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, a former governor of Adamawa State, has officially made his way back to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with an eye on the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The formal re-registration took place on Sunday at his home ward in Mubi, the commercial center of Adamawa State.

The event was anchored by the Mubi ward APC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja.

A large gathering of supporters, family, friends, and political allies turned out to witness the homecoming and show their solidarity.

Addressing the crowd, Bindow noted that he has consistently maintained party discipline and steered clear of any anti-party activities throughout his career.

He explained that his decision to rejoin the ruling party stems from his core political convictions and came after extensive consultations with his closest associates and political advisers.

Before finalizing his move, Bindow revealed that he held discussions with Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, whom he regards as a brother and trusted confidant.

He added that numerous former colleagues, aides, and loyal supporters had repeatedly urged him to bring his experience back to the APC platform.

Bindow also highlighted a recent, memorable meeting with President Bola Tinubu, sharing that the President expressed genuine delight over his return to the party.

Pledging his full backing to the party, Bindow endorsed all APC candidates and called on voters to support President Bola Tinubu at the national level alongside Ahmad Tijjani Galadima for the governorship in Adamawa State.

Emphasizing unity, Bindow stated, “I am back to the APC not to divide, but to contribute; not to fight, but to build; and above all, to work with the party and its candidates toward victory.”

Bindow had previously sought a second term in office under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before stepping down from the governorship race in May 2026.
