Southern states will experience cloudy morning skies with a likelihood of light rainfall over parts of Ebonyi, Enugu, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states, followed by intermittent moderate rainfall later in the day.

NiMet cautioned that strong winds might precede the thunderstorms and urged residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas to remain alert.

The agency advised the public to avoid walking or driving through flooded roads and to disconnect electrical appliances during severe storms where necessary.

Additionally, airline operators have been urged to secure airport-specific weather briefings from NiMet to ensure safe flight planning.
