The Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Samuel Shekwolo, has cautioned residents who do not support the All Progressives Congress to vacate the council area ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Shekwolo expressed this viewpoint in a recording spreading across social media platforms on Tuesday while speaking to his supporters and local constituents.
The council leader stated that his stance stems from what he highlighted as the ongoing developmental projects carried out in Kuje by President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
He argued that individuals cannot benefit from the current administration’s initiatives and subsequently vote against the ruling party during the 2027 polls.
“I have said in my area council, it’s either you are doing APC or leave the area council; I’m not hiding that. With confidence, I’m saying it,” he declared.
He further elaborated, “You know why, I cannot have President and Minister doing what they are doing and on the day of election, you will want to match me. It’s either you are with us, or you are out.”
This statement has generated widespread discussions and anxiety regarding the tone of political rhetoric utilized by public officeholders as campaigns draw closer.
Records show that Shekwolo assumed office as Kuje Area Council chairman under the APC banner following the February 2026 FCT Area Council elections, securing 17,269 votes according to official figures.
