The Chanchaga Local Government APC secretariat situated along Bosso Road, opposite Bahago Secondary School in Minna, has been attacked and vandalized by angry youths protesting the deaths of 37 miners in NSCDC custody.

During the onslaught, several vehicles, building windows, the security post, television sets, and other valuable property were badly damaged.

The secretariat’s watchman also sustained physical injuries from stones hurled by the protesters as well as flying shattered glass during the violence.

The protest, which originally erupted on Thursday night, escalated significantly on Friday morning as it spread across multiple locations within the state capital.

The unrest was triggered by mounting public indignation over the tragic deaths of the suspected illegal miners while being detained by the NSCDC, accompanied by widespread demands for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
