Man Who Took Married Woman To Hotel Found Dead, Abandoned By Roadside In Abuja

A missing man’s final phone trail has led Abuja police investigators to a married woman and two guest house workers allegedly connected to the discovery and illegal dumping of his body beneath a bridge in the Federal Capital Territory.

The deceased, whose identity is being withheld by law enforcement, was reported missing by his family before his lifeless body was found dumped under the Katampe Bridge along the Kubwa Expressway on Saturday.

Briefing journalists at the Command Headquarters on Saturday, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Sanusi, clarified that initial public commentary and media rumors attributing the death to “one-chance” robbers or kidnappers were inaccurate.

“Beyond the media reports, however, there was a family grieving and struggling to understand what had happened to their loved one,” CP Sanusi stated.

Investigators noted that the deceased’s mobile phone was missing from the scene, making the device a central lead in unraveling his final movements.

“In the course of the investigation, we discovered that the deceased’s mobile phone was missing. This became a significant lead in the investigation, and our operatives commenced efforts to track the device and establish its last known location and usage,” Sanusi explained.

Digital forensics traced the victim’s final outgoing communication to Mrs. Rukayat Muhammed, a resident of Garki Area 2, Abuja.

Police revealed that Muhammed, a married woman, was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with the deceased and had saved his contact under the female alias “Safiyat” on her device.

The investigation led detectives to the Good Samaritan Guest House on Second Avenue, Gwarimpa, where the pair had allegedly lodged together.

According to police findings, when Muhammed discovered the man was unresponsive and no longer breathing inside the hotel room, she quietly exited the premises with his mobile phone rather than raising an alarm.

“Rather than immediately reporting the incident to the Police, the suspect took the deceased’s mobile phone and left the hotel,” the CP stated.

Hours later, hotel personnel gained entry to the room after failed attempts to reach the guests.

Upon discovering the corpse, two members of the guest house management—identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus—allegedly loaded the body into a vehicle, transported it to the Katampe section of the Kubwa Expressway, and abandoned it roadside under the bridge to avoid police scrutiny.

“Instead of reporting the discovery to the Police, two members of the hotel management identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus subsequently removed the body from the room and transported it to Kubwa expressway by Katampe under the bridge where they dumped it by the roadside,” CP Sanusi noted.

Police authorities emphasized that medical and forensic examinations are currently underway to determine the actual cause of death, warning against premature conclusions.

“The exact cause and circumstances of the deceased’s death still under investigation, other investigative processes are being pursued to determine the full facts of the case,” Sanusi stated, assuring that all suspects linked to the death, concealment, or abandonment of the corpse will face full prosecution.
