Tinubu Appoints Keyamo To Head APC Directorate Of Air Mobilisation For 2027 Re-Election Campaign

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to lead the Directorate of Air Mobilisation within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 re-election campaign.

Under the newly established campaign logistics framework, Keyamo will serve as Director of the Directorate of Air Mobilisation. He is deputized by the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, as Deputy Director I, and the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed Umar, as Deputy Director II.

The appointments were announced in an official statement issued on Sunday by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Aviation Minister.

According to the statement, the formation of the directorate reflects the strategic importance of air transport coordination and aviation logistics in managing a nationwide presidential campaign across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

The Directorate of Air Mobilisation is tasked with managing air-movement requirements, facilitating travel arrangements for campaign leaders and personnel, and establishing structured flight operations to ensure seamless campaign scheduling.

Given the geographical spread of the 2027 campaign, the unit will collaborate with broader campaign structures to optimize logistical deployment while adhering strictly to statutory aviation regulations and electoral guidelines.

The statement noted that Keyamo’s operational experience as serving aviation minister is expected to provide leadership in structuring air-mobilisation frameworks and positioning campaign logistics effectively.

His familiarity with the operational demands of the aviation industry is expected to provide useful leadership in coordinating the directorate’s activities and establishing an effective framework for air-mobilisation planning, the statement highlighted.

Addressing administrative boundaries, the statement clarified that the directorate will maintain a clear distinction between APC campaign activities and official government operations, conducting all air travel logistics through authorized independent channels.
