Hundreds of youths on Monday, November 2, 2026, staged a peaceful protest at the Freedom Square in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, causing heavy traffic gridlock across major commercial intersections within the metropolis.
The demonstration, which drew large crowds of young men and female residents, converged at the Freedom Square junction—a critical transportation hub linking several strategic routes in the state capital.
In video footage shared online by LEADERSHIP, several male protesters wearing white T-shirts emblazoned with the inscription “TINUBU MUST GO” were seen chanting anti-government solidarity songs as they marched along key roads.
The public demonstration disrupted vehicular movement for hours, leaving commercial tricycles, motorcycles, and private vehicles struggling to navigate through the densely gathered crowd.
Numerous female participants wearing colorful hijabs lined the roadsides in support, while groups of young men paraded on motorcycles along the main thoroughfares.
A branded vehicle fitted with a high-power public address system was stationed at the center of the gathering to address the crowd, with videographers capturing the demonstration from the vehicle’s roof.
As of the time of filing this report, the organizers had not officially issued a formal list of demands, and security agencies in Zamfara State had yet to release an official statement regarding the public gathering.
Freedom Square has maintained its status as the primary epicentre for political rallies, civil rights gatherings, and public demonstrations in Gusau following its renaming by the state administration.
