The Federal Government of Nigeria has accredited five digital financial service providers to handle the disbursement of its ₦50,000 cash relief grant targeted at vulnerable households nationwide.
Operating under the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI), the program aims to cushion poor and low-income families against current economic challenges.
The designated platforms officially appointed by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction include OPay, Moniepoint, MoMo PSB, ALAT by Wema Bank, and NairaGram.
Ministry officials confirmed that target beneficiaries are drawn exclusively from verified national identity database records and the National Social Register.
The 5 Approved Payment Platforms For The ₦50,000 Grant
1. OPay
OPay serves as an official disbursement partner, processing payouts to shortlisted recipients through digital wallets directly tied to their registered phone numbers.
2. Moniepoint
Moniepoint Microfinance Bank is authorized to disburse funds to selected beneficiaries across its digital financial service channels.
3. MoMo PSB
MoMo Payment Service Bank, operated by MTN, is among the five financial institutions selected to handle direct wallet credits for qualified citizens.
4. ALAT by Wema Bank
ALAT, the digital banking subsidiary of Wema Bank, has been integrated as an approved payout platform for the social intervention scheme.
5. NairaGram
NairaGram rounds out the list of government-approved payment system providers delivering cash transfers to verified recipients.
How Beneficiaries Can Access Their ₦50,000 Grant
The Federal Government stated that shortlisted citizens will receive direct SMS notifications sent by their designated payment service provider.
Recipients must formally provide consent on their phones before the ₦50,000 sum is deposited into their mobile wallet accounts.
Once credited, beneficiaries can cash out funds through Point of Sale (POS) agents, transfer the money to commercial bank accounts, or execute digital payments via their provider’s mobile app or USSD portal.
However, authorities emphasized that holding an active account with any of the five accredited financial institutions does not automatically qualify a customer to receive the ₦50,000 grant.
Selection relies entirely on pre-verified data within the government’s social register and identity verification systems.
The government further warned the public against paying processing, administrative, or registration fees to third-party agents, stressing that the ₦50,000 NERSI intervention is completely free and has no public application portal.
