The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially disowned a circulating social media poster claiming that it reaffirmed the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The electoral body categorized the publication as completely fake, confirming that the graphic material and its accompanying text were not generated or authorized by the commission.

In an official statement released on Friday, November 6, 2026, INEC clarified that it had taken no action to endorse or validate the disputed party executive committee.

“The said poster did not originate from the Commission,” the statement read, with INEC strongly condemning the illegal use of its official logo and the image of its National Commissioner, Mohammed Haruna.

“For the avoidance of doubt, INEC has issued no such reaffirmation,” the electoral body reiterated, urging the public to disregard the viral report and rely solely on verified commission platforms for authentic updates.

The commission’s swift disclaimer follows escalating legal and political friction within the ADC after a recent Federal High Court judgment nullified the David Mark-led national executive.

The court ruling has sparked intense debate over the legitimacy of key decisions enacted under Mark’s tenure, including official party administration and presidential primary candidate selections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
