Gunmen have reportedly killed Samson Omoarebokhae, a Senior Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku.
Ivy Adodo-Ebojele, the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media, confirmed the news on Monday in Benin.
Omoarebokhae was killed on August 31 while traveling from Ozalla to Uhumora in Owan West Local Government Area.

Upon learning of the incident, the Speaker quickly sent a delegation led by Chief of Staff Odion Iruobe to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Iruobe described Omoarebokhae’s death as a significant loss to the Assembly, the PDP, and the Owan West community.
He encouraged the family to find strength in their faith.

The Speaker has pledged to take all necessary actions to ensure that those responsible for the murder are apprehended and held accountable.
“Though it is a painful situation, we pray to God in His infinite power to give the family a reason to smile again.
“We pray to God to repose the soul of the deceased and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” she said
On behalf of the family, Elijah Omoarebokhai, the deceased’s brother, thanked the Speaker for sending the delegation to support them during their time of grief.
