Peter Afunanya, the Director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications at the Department of State Services (DSS) National Headquarters in Abuja, has been redeployed.
He announced this change during a press briefing on Wednesday, September 4, but did not disclose his next assignment.

Afunanya expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the spokesperson for the DSS over the past decade.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the Service and the country, pledging to excel in whatever role he is assigned. He vowed to continue his duties with “love, loyalty, honor, and glory.”
The newly appointed Director General of the DSS, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, took office last week and has committed to refocusing the Service on its covert operations and maintaining discretion.
The new DG also promised to address the challenges facing Nigeria’s economic, political, and security sectors.
