BREAKING: IGP Told To Arrest Wike

Ijaw nation leader Chief Edwin Clark has urged Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to arrest the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following Wike’s threat to incite violence in states governed by PDP governors.

Wike made the threat during the PDP state congress at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday, warning PDP governors to avoid interfering with party matters in Rivers.

At a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Chief Edwin Clark condemned Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike’s comments as a “flagrant disrespect” to President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him. Clark described Wike’s remarks as “unbridled” and suggested that they amounted to a form of treason, capable of inciting violence in the country.

Clark noted that the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, and #EndBadGovernance protesters had been arrested for similar offenses. He urged the Inspector General of Police to take equivalent action against the FCT minister and compel him to retract his statements.
