BREAKING: Another State Postpones Schools’ Resumption Date

The Kano State Government has delayed the start date for primary and secondary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Initially, schools were scheduled to reopen on September 9, 2024.

In a statement released on Saturday, Balarabe Kiru, the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, cited Commissioner Umar Doguwa as saying the postponement was due to pressing reasons.

Doguwa did not specify the exact cause but assured that a new resumption date would be announced soon.

The statement read, “I wish to inform pupils, students, and parents that the announcement made earlier for school resumption on 8 and 9 September 2024 is now being postponed due to some urgent reasons that will help improve the conducive learning atmosphere for our children.

“Another date for resumption will be announced in due course,” the commissioner was quoted as saying in the statement.

The statement requested that students and parents/guardians be patient and understanding regarding any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
