BREAKING: Court Takes Strong Action On #EndBadGovernance Protesters

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail of N10 million each to ten members of the #EndBadGovernance protesters, who are charged with attempting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu between August 1 and 4 of this year.

In his ruling on the bail applications, Justice Emeka Nwite specified that the protesters must provide sureties who own property in Abuja.

The sureties are required to submit the property documents to the court and swear to an affidavit of means.

Additionally, each defendant must present one Abuja-based surety willing to deposit their international passport and three recent passport-sized photographs with the court.

Despite objections from the Inspector General of Police, Justice Nwite granted bail but imposed restrictions on the defendants, ordering them not to participate in any public rallies during their trial.

The defendants are to be held in prison custody until their bail conditions are met.

The accused are alleged to have committed treason during their nationwide protests, in which they purportedly waged war against Nigeria.

The trial is scheduled to begin on September 27.
