BREAKING: SGF Approves Promotion Of Senior FRSC Officers

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, approved the promotion of 49 senior officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Friday.

This was announced in a statement by Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Public Education Officer.

Among those promoted were 21 Corps Commanders (CC) elevated to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM), 11 Deputy Corps Commanders (DCC) promoted to Corps Commanders, and 17 Assistant Corps Commanders advanced to Deputy Corps Commanders. Three of the newly promoted Assistant Corps Marshals are set to proceed on immediate retirement.

Prominent among the newly promoted ACMs are ACM LD Shehu, the Corps Secretary; ACM KD Gonji, the Corps Legal Adviser; ACM Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Public Education Officer; ACM G Ntukidem, the Corps Intelligence Officer; and ACM AT Hassan, the Corps Provost, among others.

The three senior officers slated for immediate retirement are ACM DI Okuobeya, ACM AS Ochi, and ACM Adekanye.

Additionally, the Corps Information Technology Officer and Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal, Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan, was also promoted. Other newly promoted DCCs include DCC EE Uzoma and 16 others.

In his remarks, Akume praised the transparency and objectivity of the promotion process and urged the newly promoted officers to remain dedicated to the FRSC’s vision of reducing road traffic crashes and creating a safer motoring environment.

He highlighted that the promotions align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda of rewarding excellence and hard work.

FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed also congratulated the promoted officers, reminding them that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities and urging them to continue their dedication and commitment to the Corps’ mission.

He encouraged those not promoted this year to remain loyal and assured them of future opportunities.

Mohammed further promised to improve the welfare of FRSC personnel and called on all officers to remain focused on fulfilling the Corps’ mandate.
