On Tuesday, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun issued orders for the posting of the newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs).
The AIGs were among the 684 senior officers promoted on August 30 by the Police Service Commission.
The eight AIGs reassigned by the IG include AIG Mohammed Ali, AIG Fayoade Mustapha, AIG Julius Okoro, and AIG Benneth Igweh.
According to a statement from Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, these four AIGs have been assigned as Zonal AIGs for Zones 1, 2, 4, and 7, respectively.

Notably, Igweh and Fayoade previously served as Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Abuja.
“AIG Sulaiman Mohammed has been posted as AIG Police Accounts and Budget. Among the posted Commissioners of Police are CP Ibrahim Balarabe to CP Western PAP, CP Olabode Adeleye to CP Intelligence FID FHQ, Abuja and CP Felix Oben to Anti-Fraud FCID ANNEX Enugu State,” Adejobi added.
Adejobi also noted that the Inspector General of Police decorated the eight newly promoted AIGs along with 15 Commissioners of Police (CPs).

The decorated CPs are Innocent Ifeanyi Emenari, Betty Otimenyin, James Nwokolo, Felix Oben, Olusegun Eyitayo, Ugobueze Ogbodo, Ohagwu Ndukwe, Taylor Olarewaju, Sa’adatu Ismaila, Olabode Akinbamilowo, Regina Udoette, Francis Gbiwen, Afolabi Olatokunbo, Ohiozoba Ehiede, and Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya.
Adejobi added that the IG encouraged the newly promoted officers to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the police force.
He said, “The Inspector-General of Police while congratulating the newly promoted officers, reiterates that every one of them is an ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force and charged them to discharge the schedules of their new ranks within the dictates of the rule of law and citizens’ expectations as the Nigeria Police Force keep working towards a safer country for all citizenry.”
