Iran Sends Warning To Countries That Helped Intercept Missiles Targeting Israel

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned on Wednesday that countries assisting in intercepting missiles aimed at Israel “will be held responsible.”

Araghchi made this statement in response to reports of Jordan’s involvement in blocking missiles fired by Iran towards Israel on Tuesday.

The United States and the United Kingdom were also part of the defense effort to protect Israel.

The missile strikes were Iran’s retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut the previous week.

Following the Iranian attack, Jordan’s military announced that its armed forces had been placed on “high alert” to counter any threats to the kingdom’s security and stability.

“Jordan has consistently maintained that it will not become a battlefield for any nation. Protecting Jordan and its people is our top priority,” said Mohammad al-Momani, Minister of Government Communication, during an interview with state-run al-Mamlaka TV on Wednesday.

Jordan, a close ally of the U.S., had previously helped intercept missiles during an Iranian attack targeting Israel in April, prompting warnings from Tehran.

Tuesday’s missile strikes injured three people in Jordan, and fragments of the missiles landed in various parts of the country, including the capital, Amman.

Jordanian state media showed reports of damage, with one segment from Balqa governorate, northwest of Amman, where a reporter displayed a 2-meter-long missile fragment that had fallen in the area.
