Remi Tinubu Donates N1bn To OAU, Gives Reason

First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday reminisced about the beautiful landscape of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) campus in Ile-Ife, Osun State, from her days as a student there.

She lamented how much of the green landscape had been lost over the years and called for immediate efforts to regenerate the environment and restore the campus’s beauty.

Tinubu made these remarks during the inauguration of the 2.7km “Senator Oluremi Tinubu Way,” along with a grand pavilion and monument on the OAU campus, all donated by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and named in her honor.

Criticizing the poor maintenance culture for the deterioration of the campus’s landscapes, she announced a donation of N1 billion for the restoration of OAU’s horticultural landscape.
