Apostle Suleman Reacts To Halima Abubakar’s Apology

Apostle Johnson Suleman, Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, has addressed Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar’s public apology for her defamatory comments, emphasizing that forgiveness does not mean forgetting.

In a brief statement on X.com on Wednesday, Suleman said, “You all stop calling my phone. Forgiveness is not memory loss! Status quo maintained!”

This response follows Abubakar’s apology, in which she acknowledged that her previous remarks were “false and hurtful.”

The actress expressed remorse for the pain her allegations caused and sought forgiveness from Apostle Suleman and his family.

She explained that her actions stemmed from poor judgment and that her apology was the result of “deep reflection and conscience.”

In 2022, Abubakar claimed on social media that she had a romantic relationship with Suleman, which led to legal threats from the cleric over her “defamatory statements.”

The situation escalated in 2023 when she alleged she had been pregnant three times with Suleman’s child.

In April, a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered Abubakar to pay N10 million in damages for her derogatory comments.

The court also prohibited her from making further defamatory statements against Suleman and required her to publish a retraction of her remarks on her Instagram account, #Halimabubakar.
