Tinubu Gives Former Buhari’s Minister Sunday Dare New Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Sunday Dare as Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation, where he will operate from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

The announcement came on Wednesday, coinciding with Tinubu’s dismissal of five ministers and the reassignment of ten to new roles, alongside the appointment of seven new ministers pending Senate confirmation.

Dare previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports from 2019 to 2023 under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Before that, he was appointed Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in 2016.

Additionally, he was Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Media to Tinubu during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu also named Shehu Dikko as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, following the dissolution of the Ministry of Sports Development and the transfer of its responsibilities to the new commission to foster a robust sports economy.
