According to a report from The Punch, the incident occurred last week in Ugbaike, Enugu Ezike, within the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Mr. Eze had recently secured a visa to travel abroad and returned to his village to share the news with his father.

However, his father insisted on a ritual for fortification to ensure his son’s success overseas and took him to the herbalist, Odugu.
The herbalist allegedly stated that Mr. Eze needed to be buried alive for an hour and a half as part of the ritual. Tragically, when he was exhumed after the time had passed, he was found dead.
Public Relations Officer Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the arrests of both the father and the herbalist in a statement issued on Tuesday.
