Peter Obi has expressed his satisfaction with Kemi Badenoch’s election as the new leader of Britain’s Conservative Party.
Badenoch won the leadership contest on Saturday, succeeding Rishi Sunak and becoming the first person of African heritage to lead the Conservatives.
The party announced her victory in a post on X, saying, “ANNOUNCED: @KemiBadenoch has been elected Leader of the Conservative Party.”
The 44-year-old politician defeated Robert Jenrick in a four-month race following Sunak’s resignation, with a voter turnout of 72%, as noted by Conservative MP Bob Blackman.

In response, Obi shared a post on Sunday, calling Badenoch’s win a powerful testament to the global potential of Nigerian and African youth.
