Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has directed officers of the Nigeria Police Force to wear black armbands for a seven-day mourning period in honor of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
This directive was announced in a statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.

According to Adejobi, the gesture is a tribute to Lagbaja’s bravery, dedication, and commitment to combating insurgency in Nigeria during his lifetime.
