Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, the collation officer, announced the break, explaining that it was necessary to allow time for the results from the remaining LGAs to arrive.
These areas, he said, are quite distant from Akure, the state capital. “We will adjourn until 12 noon,” he stated. “The two remaining LGAs, Ilaje and Ese Odo, are very far, so we need to give them time to arrive. But we will resume at 12 noon.”
So far, the 15 LGAs declared are: Ifedore, Ondo East, Ileoluji Oke-Igbo, Idanre, Irele, Akoko South West, Owo, Ondo West, Akoko South East, Akoko North West, Ose, Akoko North East, Akure South, Akure North, and Okitipupa.
The three remaining LGAs yet to be announced are Ilaje, Odigbo, and Ese Odo.
There was only one dispute among the 15 declared LGAs.
In Idanre, the PDP agent raised concerns about alleged vote-buying, ballot box snatching, and reports of no election in certain areas.
The agent called on the returning officer to reject the results from Idanre due to these issues.
