The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned to December 10 for a ruling on the bail application filed by the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and two others.
Bello, along with co-defendants Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, is facing a 16-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N110 billion fraud.
The former governor, who is the first defendant in the case, pleaded not guilty to all the charges, denying the allegations as they were read out to him by Justice Maryanne Anenih.

Following the plea, Bello’s counsel, Joseph Daudu, filed a bail application. However, EFCC counsel Kemi Pinheiro opposed the motion, arguing that the application had expired in October.
In response, Daudu clarified that the application under consideration was a new one, specifically for the first defendant, which had been filed on November 22.
He further stated that the bail request was supported by a detailed affidavit and written submissions.
Justice Anenih ruled that the defendants would remain in the custody of the EFCC pending the ruling on the bail application.
The EFCC had charged the former governor with fraud involving an alleged N110 billion.
