Abbe, who was originally from Edo State, served as the military governor of Rivers from August 1990 to January 1992.
Governor Fubara described his death as a significant loss to both the state and the nation.
The governor’s message of condolence was conveyed in a statement released on Sunday in Port Harcourt by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

In his tribute, Governor Fubara praised Abbe as a leader who prioritized the welfare of the people of Rivers State during his tenure. He also acknowledged the late military officer’s invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s unity and development.
