Former President Hospitalised In US

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday for tests and observation after experiencing a fever.

“The president is fine,” Angel Urena, Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton, told CNN in an interview on Monday.

Urena revealed that the former president is optimistic about returning home by Christmas.

He added, “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

The 78-year-old was at his Washington home when he was hospitalized.

The former president had quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004 and had two stents placed to open an artery in 2010. In 2021, he was also hospitalized for an infection that spread to his bloodstream.

Clinton remained active on the campaign trail this autumn and has kept a busy travel schedule since the election, while also promoting his new book, Citizen: My Life After the White House.
