Benue Governor Declares Two-Week Holiday For Civil Servants To Celebrate Christmas

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has declared two separate two-week holidays for Civil Servants in the state to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

The governor made the announcement during a press briefing at the Government House in Makurdi on Tuesday.

The holiday will begin on December 24 and end on January 6, 2025.

Governor Alia explained that the extended break is intended to give workers the opportunity to celebrate the festive season with their families and loved ones.

He further encouraged civil servants to utilize the holiday period to participate in farming activities to contribute to the state’s food security.

He said, “I urge you to seize the opportunity of this long holiday to attend to your agricultural pursuit by engaging in farming activities so that there will be abundance of food in the state”.

Alia stated that essential services, including banks, energy providers, and security agencies, will continue to operate unaffected by the extended holiday.

He encouraged the people of the state to maintain the spirit of love and peace, while staying dedicated to building a better Benue State.
