The Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, visited Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, on Wednesday to offer their condolences following the tragic deaths of his mother and son.
The visit took place at the Presidential Lodge, Government House in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
Governor Namadi recently endured a devastating loss, as he lost his mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab, in a car accident just 24 hours apart.
During the visit, Dangote commended the governor for his remarkable strength and resilience during such a trying time.
“Your Excellency, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your mother and son. May Allah grant them eternal rest and comfort you and your family during this difficult time,” Dangote said.
Obi described the loss as “irreplaceable” and expressed his deepest condolences to Governor Namadi and his family.
“Our hearts are with the governor and the family at this very difficult moment, as they mourn these departed ones,” Obi said.
In his response, Governor Namadi expressed his gratitude to Dangote and Obi for their visit and thoughtful words.
“I am deeply grateful for your support and solidarity during this difficult time. Your presence here today is a testament to the strong bond of friendship and camaraderie that exists among us,” Namadi said.
