FIRS Boss, Adedeji Reveals Position On Contesting Oyo Governorship Election In 2027

Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has confirmed that he will not be running for the position of governor of Oyo State in 2027, a role currently held by Seyi Makinde.

Adedeji, who previously served as the Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State from 2011 to 2015, had been mentioned as a potential candidate for the governorship.

However, in a recent statement, he clarified that he has no intention of pursuing such a political ambition and is fully focused on his current responsibilities.

“He has given us that platform. So the only thing I need from you is your prayers for strength to end well with what I’m doing now. So I would not want to be distracted’. He concluded in the clip

In September 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Adedeji to lead the FIRS.
