Supporters of Mudashiru Obasa, who was recently impeached as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, caused a stir by singing the party anthem “On Your Mandate” while being held in a police van.

The 52-year-old lawmaker, who represented Agege Constituency I, was removed from office on Monday due to allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of power.

Obasa, who had served as speaker since 2015, was in the midst of his third term when he was impeached. His former deputy, Mojisola Meranda, has since been elected as his successor.
