The former Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Barr. Ifeanyi Nworie, along with his supporters, has left the PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
During a civic reception held in his honor by the people of Ezza South Local Government Area, the State Chairman of the APC, Chief Stanley Emegha, welcomed Barr. Nworie to the party.
He urged continued support for the state governor to help achieve his goals for Ebonyi State.

Emegha emphasized that conflict and resentment benefit no one and mentioned that he had also approached Mr. Ifeanyichukwuma Odii, the PDP’s governorship candidate in the 2023 election, to work with Governor Francis Nwifuru to progress the state.
He called on the Ezza South local government party chairman and other stakeholders to ensure that the new members are properly integrated into the party’s activities.
Emegha further stated that the APC is a disciplined party and urged the defectors to be cautious of their actions, warning against any behavior that could cause discord within the party.
Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, the Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area, remarked that Governor Nwifuru’s developmental achievements have attracted many people from opposition parties to the APC. She assured that Nwifuru would continue to promote an open-door policy.
In his response, Barr. Nworie, speaking on behalf of the defectors, clarified that his decision to join the APC was not due to the crisis in the PDP.
He promised to collaborate with the state government to advance the state and assured that he would not be involved in any factionalism within the party, aiming instead for the party to win all elective positions in the 2027 elections.
