APC Expels Former Chairman, Others

The acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Alphonsus Nwafor, announced on Tuesday the expulsion of the suspended state chairman, Ugochukwu Agballa, along with other executive members, citing gross misconduct.

In a statement issued after an executive meeting and read by the state publicity secretary, Chief Charles-Solo Akor, the party alleged that Agballa and the expelled members had violated court orders, thereby disregarding the party’s constitution, values, and principles.

The statement, jointly signed by Nwafor and Akor, read: *”The leadership of the APC Enugu State chapter hereby officially expels Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Augustine Alumona, Jude Chinedu Aniogbo, Moses Emeka Eze, Sunday Ugwoke, Ugwu Christian Kanayo, Eze Chidiebere Johnson, Queen Charles, and Onyekachi T. Ezeagu from the party.”*

The expelled individuals were also accused of intimidating and arresting party members who showed support for President Bola Tinubu during his visit to Enugu on January 4, 2025.

“This decision underscores our firm commitment to accountability and ethical leadership. The integrity of our party is non-negotiable,” the statement emphasized.

The party further accused Agballa and his associates of defying a court order that prohibited them from organizing or presiding over any meetings as the state’s executive committee leaders. Additionally, they were alleged to have engaged in actions that undermined the party’s constitution and core principles.

Reaffirming its commitment to upholding party values, the APC leadership assured members and stakeholders that it remains dedicated to repositioning the party for better governance.
