Mojisola Meranda has resigned amid the ongoing leadership crisis in the Lagos State Assembly, which has left the fate of Speaker Obasa uncertain and divided both the Assembly and the state’s party leadership.
Meranda stated that her decision to step down was to safeguard the integrity of the Assembly.

Before her resignation, lawmakers praised her legislative skills, dedication, and contributions during her brief tenure.
Desmond Olusola Elliot commended her leadership, acknowledging her efforts in guiding the House effectively.
Similarly, Temitope Adewale Ifako-Ijaiye I described her as a “heroine of democracy,” recognizing her service and calling her a “victim of circumstance” as he lamented the situation within the Assembly.
