Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s (NNPCL) preliminary objection to Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ ₦100 billion import license suit.
The judge ruled that NNPCL failed to file a counter affidavit and instead filed a preliminary objection, violating court procedures.

He also stated that jurisdiction issues can be addressed during judgment.
He criticized NNPCL’s “incompetent preliminary objection,” citing a violation of Federal High Court rules.
The court allowed Dangote Refinery’s application to amend its suit to correctly name NNPCL.
