The suspended Rivers State lawmakers, under the leadership of Speaker Martins Amaewhule, have traveled to the United Kingdom for an official tour.
Amaewhule’s media aide, Martins Wachukwu, confirmed their departure, stating that Amaewhule inaugurated the 10th Rivers Assembly Legislative Tour of the UK on Friday.

Amaewhule reportedly stated that the tour aims to expose the House to new ideas and practices from outside Nigeria, which will enhance the capabilities of its members for their future responsibilities.
The opening of the five-day tour, held in Central London, focused on the topic of “Legislative Dynamics in the Presidential and Parliamentary Systems.”
Principal officers and members of the House who spoke at the event expressed their hope that the tour would provide a valuable opportunity for learning from their peers and gaining insights to improve their parliamentary oversight functions.
