Kennedy Peretei, the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has stepped down from his position, accusing party leaders of taking over the party for their own selfish interests.
In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairperson of Arogbo 1 Ward in Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Peretei criticized the party’s leadership for showing little commitment to securing electoral victories.

He wrote: “I’ve decided to quit the PDP, as its supposed leaders have no real intention of winning any elections, now or in the future.
“It’s difficult working with individuals focused solely on personal gain, using the party as a political marketplace every election cycle.”
Mr. Peretei noted that he previously held the position of State Financial Secretary from 1999 to 2003 and had been serving as the State Publicity Secretary since 2020.
“I’ve contributed significantly, yet the same people have gripped the party tightly, causing repeated electoral failures over three cycles,” he stated.
He compared the party’s present condition to that of a patient in an intensive care unit, now on its way to the morgue.
He condemned individuals treating the PDP as a source of personal income and called on them to seek other ways to earn a living.
“To those surviving on election funds and patronage, I advise finding second addresses to live more meaningful lives, not as political bandits or ‘Yes’ men,” he said.
