The Presidency has retracted a list of appointments it released earlier today, citing errors.
Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, announced the withdrawal in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
He stated, “We have noticed a number of errors in the list of appointments tweeted. We are sorry. We will provide an updated list later. Thank you.”

Mr. Dare had previously shared a list containing 152 appointees, with the North-west region having the highest representation, followed closely by the South-west with 29 appointees.
The South-east region had the fewest appointees on the list, with 16 individuals.
Although Mr. Dare did not specify the reasons for the list’s initial release, it may be related to ongoing accusations of nepotism against President Tinubu, with some Nigerians alleging that he has disproportionately favored his South-west region in appointments since assuming office in May 2023.
