Pharmacist Chinedu Ikeagwuonwu Klinsmann, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain from Anambra State, has strongly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nomination of Reno Omokri as an ambassador-designate.
He describes the move as a betrayal of party loyalty, public trust, and democratic principles.
Klinsmann, who is known for his vocal opposition to political opportunism, expressed shock that Omokri, who has a history of hostility, misinformation, and attacks against President Tinubu, would be chosen to represent Nigeria internationally.

He argues that this nomination insults loyal APC members and undermines the integrity of Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Klinsmann cites numerous instances of Omokri’s social media attacks against Tinubu, particularly during the 2021-2023 period.
He highlights Omokri’s claims about Tinubu’s unfitness for office, his mockery of Tinubu’s “Emi Lokan” declaration, and his revival of drug allegations related to Tinubu’s past.
He also points to Omokri’s divisive rhetoric, including accusations of ethnic bias against Tinubu and his labeling of the 2023 election as fraudulent.
Klinsmann condemns Omokri’s ridicule of Tinubu’s health and his accusations of financial impropriety.
Klinsmann notes that Omokri has also attacked Vice President Kashim Shettima and criticized Tinubu’s economic policies. He further highlights Omokri’s past controversies, including accusations of inciting ethnic hostility and spreading derogatory posts about the Igbo.
Klinsmann argues that Omokri’s nomination should be withdrawn because it contradicts the principles of loyalty and patriotism, threatens party unity, and undermines Nigeria’s diplomatic image.
He urges President Tinubu to appoint individuals who reflect the values of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” and can represent Nigeria with honor and integrity.
