Kidnappers Release Abducted Pastor In Kaduna, Detain Ransom Carrier

Suspected kidnappers, believed to be the bandits who abducted Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Mararaba Aboro, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have released the cleric.

However, the individual who delivered the ransom for the pastor’s release, Yusuf Shehu Ambi, has now been held by the kidnappers.

Ambi, who was reportedly carrying a significant amount of money to secure the pastor’s freedom, was detained by the kidnappers, who are allegedly demanding additional money or other concessions for his release.

Pastor Ali was kidnapped from his residence in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, just two weeks after his assignment to the church.

The kidnappers had initially demanded a N100 million ransom for his release.

While Kaduna State police have yet to officially confirm the kidnapping and subsequent release of the pastor, a community source informed Channels Television that Ambi, who also serves as the financial secretary of ECWA in Mararaba Aboro, was detained after delivering the ransom for Pastor Ali’s freedom.
